Indigo cannot dye gray hair on its own. What shade will I get?

• Dark brown — henna 1 hour, then indigo 45 minutes
• Deep brown-black — henna 2 hours, then indigo 1 hour
• Jet black — henna 2 hours, then indigo 1.5–2 hours, or repeat the indigo step the following day

Longer indigo time equals darker result. You control the depth.

How much do I need?

• Roots and touch-ups — 1 bundle covers about 3 root applications
• Short to chin length — 1 bundle per full application
• Shoulder length — 2 bundles
• Long or thick hair — 3 bundles

The two-step process

1. Henna. Mix 100g with warm water to a yogurt-thick paste. Apply to clean, dry hair. Leave 1–2 hours. Rinse with water only — do not shampoo. Your hair will look coppery-red at this stage. That is correct. Do not stop here.
2. Indigo. Mix fresh, apply immediately to the still-damp henna-dyed hair, leave 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the depth you want, rinse with water only.
3. Wait 48 hours before shampooing. The color oxidizes and darkens over the first two to three days.
